Expert Answers about Chevrolet Car Roof Bag

  • Cargo Bag Recommendation for a Kia Forte with Naked Roof
  • One of my favorite cargo bags is the Rightline Gear Sport 2 Rooftop Cargo Bag, # RL100S20. This bag measures 44 inches long x 36 inches wide x 19 inches tall with 15 cubic feet of storage which is a great size for your 2014 Kia Forte. I would not recommend going much larger because it can be difficult to stabilize a cargo bag if it is too big for the roof. Most of the larger bags were primarily designed for larger vehicles such as vans and SUVs. Because the bag will be in direct contact...

  • Solution for Carrying Roof Cargo Bag on Roof of 2017 Nissan Altima with Roof Rack
  • Since you have a sunroof we don't really like to recommend resting a roof cargo bag directly on your roof. So instead your best option would be a roof cargo basket attached to your roof rack so that you can attach a bag like the Rightline part # RL100S50 to it. For a basket you could then use the part # SR9035 which would work well for this application and would give you a much more secure setup than attaching a cargo bag to just crossbars.

  • Can Rightline Roof Cargo Bag Fit on 2010 Toyota Prius with Naked Roof
  • For installing the Rightline Gear Roof Cargo Carrier # RL100S20 that you referenced on your 2010 Toyota Prius I do have a couple suggestions. First, I would recommend the Car Clips for Rightline Rooftop Cargo Bags # RL100600. These attach to the straps of the bag and then attach to the roof of the vehicle, this doesn't require you to run straps inside your vehicle. I also recommend a protective pad, # RL100650, to protect the roof when using the bag. The dimensions of this bag are 44"...

  • I recommend a cargo bag designed to be able to work with a naked roof like part # RL100S30, which you referenced. This measures 48 inches long x 40 inches wide x 19 inches tall, with 18 cu ft of storage space. This cargo bag is waterproof so it is designed to keep your gear clean and dry. To attach the cargo bag to the roof of your Altima I recommend the Car Clips for Rightline Rooftop Cargo Bags, part # RL100600. These attach to the straps on the cargo bag and attach to the door frames...

  • Recommended Roof Top Cargo Bag for 2000 Toyota Sienna with no Crossbars
  • The Rightline Sport 2 Rooftop Cargo Bag, part # RL100S20 is a large soft-sided bag that is fairly aerodynamic. The bag has a 12 cubic foot capacity. The bag is capable of being attached to the side rails on your roof. Adding a crossbar kit consisting of part # TH710401 and # TH712200 would provide additional stability and attachment points for the bag, but they are not required. The Rightline Sport 2 is one of our most popular rooftop bags, and is highly rated by our customers. The bag...

  • Is the Rightline Gear Sport Jr. Rooftop Cargo Bag A Good Fit For 2010 Toyota Prius with Sunroof
  • I would not recommend a cargo bag that rests directly on the roof of a vehicle that has a sunroof like your 2010 Toyota Prius. Especially since you have a solar panel up there as well. You can still use the Rightline Gear Sport Jr. part # RL100S50 but you'll also need to install a roof rack and basket so that it wouldn't rest on your vehicle roof. So first for a roof rack the Rhino Rack part numbers # RRVA118B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK195 would be a great place to start. It's a higher quality...

  • Availability Of Tie-Down Straps For Cargo Bag On 2014 Nissan Altima
  • I spoke with my contact at Rightline and they told me the tie-down straps are not sold as a separate item. If you are able to locate the 1 inch strap and the cam buckle, I recommend part # RL100600. These are the Car Clips for Rightline Rooftop Cargo Bags, and would provide the attach clips for your cargo bag on the roof of your 2014 Nissan Altima. The straps are 1 inch wide that are needed. To protect your Altima roof finish and the cargo bag I recommend using a non skid protection...

  • Roof Mounted Cargo Bag for a 2009 Toyota Corolla
  • For roof mounted cargo bags that will work with your 2009 Toyota Corolla I recommend any of the Rightline series of bags, see link. They come in a variety of sizes and will fit a vehicle with or without a roof rack. the most popular option is # RL100S30 but this one might be a little too big for your car at 48 inches long, 40 inches wide, and 19 inches tall. The next step down is # RL100S20 which would be a better fit at 44 inches long, 36 inches wide, and 19 inches tall. I also recommend...

  • Roof Cargo Bag Recommendation For 2004 Hyundai Sonata With Naked Roof
  • You will want to check the owner's manual or with your dealership to find out what the roof weight capacity of your 2004 Hyundai Sonata is. You will not want to exceed the maximum roof weight capacity. For a cargo bag I recommend the Rightline Gear Roof Cargo Carrier, part # RL100S20. This cargo bag is made of waterproof material, has 15 cu ft of room and features straps that will run through the Sonata's interior and around the carrier. If you want to secure the bag to the rain gutters...

  • Options for Carrying Cargo on Roof of 2012 Subaru Legacy
  • We sell cargo bags that attach to vehicles with naked roofs. This is a great solution for people who don't need to carry cargo on the roof all of the time but still want an economical option that allows this. For you size vehicle the part # RL100S50 would be your best option for this. If you plan to use the bag/box frequently the part # SR1010 is a confirmed fit that would work well. And then for a great cargo box that isn't quite as expensive as the others the SportRack Horizon part #...

  • Will Water Leak Into a 2010 Nissan Rouge When Using a Roof Mount Cargo Bag for Bare Roofs
  • Even if you were to use a cargo bag that can install on a naked roof water should not be able to leak into the vehicle. The weather stripping on the inside of the doors should still prevent that from happening. I have not heard of any complaints yet of water getting in. This is because on many vehicles there is weather stripping on the door and on the door frame or body of the vehicle to create the best seal. If your 2010 Rogue does not have this double type of weatherstripping then I...

  • Recommended Roof Top Cargo Bag for a 2006 Toyota Corolla S 4-Door with a Bare Roof
  • The Rightline Sport 3 XL roof top cargo bag # RL100S30 will fit a variety of vehicles and is a very popular option. It has an extra-large carrying capacity of 18 cubic feet and dimensions of 48-inches long x 40-inches wide x 19-inches tall. Based on my research of your 2006 Toyota Corrola S, you have a vehicle width of 66.9 inches. I would recommend measuring your roof length and width just to be sure. To help protect your vehicle's roof from scratches, I recommend a non-skid roof protection...

  • Roof Cargo Bag, Trailer Hitch, and Cargo Carrier for a 2005 Cadillac CTS
  • Rightline Sport 3 XL cargo bag # RL100S30 is a great option for your 2005 Cadillac CTS. The width on this bag is 40 inches which is less than the width of the roof of your CTS (the overall width of the vehicle is about 70 inches, the roof will be less). Since you have a naked roof I recommend a couple of accessories to go with this bag. First, car clips # RL100600 will allow you to mount the bag to the roof without having to run straps through the interior of the vehicle; definitely a...

  • Roof Mount Cargo Bag for a 2013 Toyota Prius with No Roof Rack
  • For your 2013 Toyota Prius I actually recommend Rightline Ace cargo bag # RL100A20. It is larger but costs less than bag # RL100S50 that you asked about. When properly installed the bag will work well on your long trip from Illinois to New Jersey. The bag can be used on a naked roof but to do so you have to run the attachment straps through the interior of the vehicle. This can diminish head room and also the straps can sometimes act like a wick and let water soak the straps on the inside...

  • How to Install Rightline Roof Bags on a Naked Roof of a Vehicle with a Sliding Door
